Applications are open for the Evolutionary Biology and Ecology of Cancer Summer School 2022, taking place between June 13-17, 2022 at the Wellcome Genome Campus, UK.Students will have the opportunity to explore various modelling techniques (e.g. agent-based, game theory), as well as develop sought-after skills through hands-on experience using ecological, phylogenetic and digital pathology tools, relevant to your cancer research. There will also be discussion on the application of evo-eco principles in the design of novel clinical trials.Topics include:
Introduction to key evolutionary concepts
Bioinformatics for cancer
Fitting maths models to data
Evolutionary game theory
Agent-based modelling – hands-on session
Immune selection
Digital pathology and ecology
Landscape ecology
Phylogenetics – mutation rates, demographics, biogeography
Designing clinical trials – evolutionary and ecological perspectives
CommunicationBe part of an interactive group of fellow researchers that are keen to improve their understanding of cancer from an evolutionary and ecological perspective. Expand your professional network through expert tutorials, Q&As, and face-to face networking opportunities. Applications are due by April 12, 2022. For more information and to apply, please visit the event website here.
