This fascinating and informative article, Taming cancer evolution surprises, by science journalist Vivien Marx is just published (Sept ’25) in Nature Methods. It gives a good flavor of the multitude of new methods that geneticists, evolutionary biologists, microbiologists and computer scientists are bringing to bear to understand the development of tumors and their interaction with healthy tissue and even our microbiome! The article speaks to me about the vast scope of exciting possibilities that technology has opened up for new scientists to explore and make a real impact in the cancer field.
